Organization: Emanuel Ministries Inc.
Mission Partner: Hope for the Horn of Africa (HHA)
Local Ministry Partner: Mekene Yesus Church and local pastors
Mission Locations: Addis Ababa, Mekelle, Adwa, Aksum, Shire, and Rama, Ethiopia

Mission Overview

Emanuel Ministries Inc., alongside Hope for the Horn of Africa (HHA) and local ministry partners, participated in a mission outreach across northern Ethiopia, bringing humanitarian assistance, spiritual encouragement, and practical support to children, families, and churches facing difficult circumstances.

Led by Pastor Doru Neamțu, the mission included children’s ministry, food distributions, evangelistic services, Bible seminars, prayer gatherings, and assistance to local ministry leaders.

Despite challenging road conditions, security checkpoints, fuel shortages, and ongoing regional instability, the team traveled between several communities to serve those in need.

Supporting Children and Families

One of the primary focuses of the mission was supporting children and their caregivers through established children’s projects in Adwa, Shire, and Rama.

In Adwa, the team visited a children’s project serving approximately 150 children, providing essential supplies, clothing, shoes, and encouragement to families.

In Shire, Emanuel Ministries and HHA continued their shared commitment to supporting 40 children. Emanuel Ministries sponsors 20 children, while HHA sponsors the remaining 20. Families received food assistance, including flour and cooking oil, along with other necessary supplies.

In Rama, near the Eritrean border, the team visited a children’s project serving 60 children and their caregivers. An additional 30 Christian families received food assistance.

Throughout the mission, distributions included flour, cooking oil, clothing, shoes, hygiene products, school supplies, and recreational equipment for children.

These efforts provided practical assistance while strengthening relationships with families and local ministry partners.

Evangelism and Church Outreach

Spiritual ministry remained central to the mission.

The team participated in evangelistic gatherings, Bible seminars, and prayer services in Adwa, Aksum, Shire, Rama, and Mekelle.

In Adwa, approximately 200 people attended a Bible seminar at Mekene Yesus Church. The team also ministered to caregivers and families connected with the children’s project.

In Shire, approximately 150 participants representing seven churches attended Bible teaching sessions focused on overcoming temptation and sharing the Gospel.

In Mekelle, a two-day outreach and Bible seminar brought together approximately 250 attendees.

According to Pastor Doru’s field reports, many participants responded to invitations for prayer, repentance, renewed faith, and personal commitment to Jesus Christ.

Strengthening Local Churches and Ministry Leaders

Beyond community outreach, the mission supported pastors and local ministry workers who continue serving throughout the year.

The team provided ministry equipment, including projectors, amplifiers, and laptops, to help strengthen local church activities, teaching, and administration.

Local pastors and ministry workers also received practical gifts and encouragement in recognition of their continued service.

These partnerships remain essential to ensuring that the mission’s impact extends beyond the team’s visit.

Humanitarian Assistance and Community Care

The mission provided food and essential supplies across five principal outreach areas: Adwa, Aksum, Shire, Rama, and Mekelle.

Assistance included flour, cooking oil, soap, detergent, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, feminine hygiene products, school supplies, clothing, and shoes.

The team also distributed eyeglasses in several communities, including approximately 40 pairs in Rama and 75 pairs during an outreach in Mekelle.

Children received sports equipment, treats, and opportunities to participate in group activities.

The team also prayed with individuals and families experiencing personal difficulties and health challenges.

Mission Partnerships

Hope for the Horn of Africa (HHA) served as a major mission partner, providing humanitarian supplies, supporting children’s programs, and participating in evangelistic and community outreach activities.

Emanuel Ministries Inc. contributed through children’s sponsorship, spiritual leadership, and ongoing relationships with local ministries.

Mekene Yesus Church, together with pastors and ministry workers in Ethiopia, helped coordinate local gatherings, community outreach, and distributions.

The mission also benefited from the service of visiting team members, translators, drivers, local staff, and volunteers.

These collaborative efforts made it possible to reach communities across multiple locations, including areas facing significant logistical and security challenges.
