“How valuable is the word of God in your life?”
Did you ever read it from cover to cover? Psalm 119 :162 “ I rejoice at Thy Word.”How often do you read it? Unfortunately many Christians read the Bible just once a week probably in the church and not even there because they are projecting it on the screen while the pastor read it. What role does the Word of God has in your life?” One meal a week will make your week.” The Bible is the absolute truth. Bible = “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.” Satan is not afraid of the believer who’s Bible has dust on it. Spurgeon said, “A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.” The reason some are down on the Bible is that they’re not up on the Bible.”Ronald Reagan said, “Within the covers of the Bible are the answers for all the problems man face.” Martin Luther said,” The Bible is the cradle wherein Christ is laid.” Moody said, “The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible.” All the books are given for information but the Bible is given for transformation. John Barth said, “The Bible is not man’s word about God, but God’s word about man.” John Ortberg said,”People cheer the Bible, buy the Bible, give the Bible, own the Bible, but they just don’t actually read the Bible.” D. Moody said, “ I know the Bible is inspired because it inspires me.” The Bible is the only book that reveals about the past , present, and future. You read other books but this book reads you. Men do not reject the Bible because it contradicts itself. They reject the Bible because it contradicts them. Are you willing to go to prison for having a Bible? Are you willing to die for the Bible? If your answer,”Yes” to these questions, the Bible has a great value in your life. In China our brothers are going to jail for two years if they will be caught with a Bible. They rip of the pages one by one and give one page to each other, then after they memorize the page, they trade the pages with one another. In North Korea they will go for life in prison for having a Bible or they will be executed for having a Bible. In Vietnam two sisters wrote the Bible (that they borrowed), by hand ,in one year. Are you going to finish reading the Bible by the end of this year? If you come with excuses then you don’t love the Word of God. When you don’t open the Bible to read it, you are telling God to,”Shut up”, because through the Bible God speaks to you. But, the time will come when you want God to speak to you and He will be quiet. May the Lord give you hunger for His Word. Many are coming with excuses that they don’t have time. If you don’t have time to read the Word of God, to hear His voice, to find the will of God, then you’ll have time for nothing. And if you claim that you don’t have time for reading the Word, God will put you in a hospital bed to give you time. Cut your time on Facebook, Instagram, Internet, Movies, etc. and you’ll have time. Others are saying that they cannot understand the Bible. Reading the Bible is like eating a fish with bones. The fact that you find a bone in the fish ,it doesn’t make you to throw the fish to the garbage but you put the bone on the side and keep on eating. Then you’ll find another bone ,or more bones and put them on the side and keep on eating because if you throw the fish away you’ll be hungry. You may not understand everything you read from the Word of God ,for the moment, but keep on reading and sooner or later the Holy Spirit will reveal it to you. If you don’t read it you will be spiritually starved and powerless. Do you know by heart the books of the Old Testament and the New Testament? Do you know the 12 disciples of Jesus? So many Christians know the football players, Hollywood stars, all kinds of sport and movie stars, teams of players but they cannot claim the names of the team of Jesus- the 12 disciples who changed the world. Don’t read it out of obligation but out of passion and excitement and consider it a privilege to hear God speaking to you. No one ever graduate from Bible study until they meet the Author face-to-face. Everything will pass away but “My Word” lasts forever. Does the Word of God bring joy to you?
